Synopsis:
Breeds rather locally in southeast, south-central, and northeast
Oregon. Most notable are the records from the
Willamette Valley and north coast, but these western Oregon records are
likely of individuals that are not breeding.

Edges of Freshwater Marsh (18049 acres)
lesser
Seasonally Wet Playa (56084 acres)
Relative Detectability:
Easy to spot and to confirm nesting, usually by noting
fledglings accompanied by adults.
Challenge:
Confirm breeding by pairs observed in late spring in the
Willamette Valley.
